Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Clipperry ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Clipperry browser extension and the clipperry.com website (together, the "Service"). We designed Clipperry to collect as little as possible.

1. The short version

2. Information we do not collect

Clipperry is built local-first. Specifically, we do not collect or have access to:

3. Information stored locally in your browser

Clipperry stores the following on your own device using the browser's extension storage APIs. This data does not leave your device except as described in section 4:

DataPurposeWhere it is stored
Settings and preferencesRemember your destination, tags, and optionsYour browser
Remembered destinationAvoid making you re-select your target every timeYour browser
Monthly clip countEnforce the free plan limitYour browser
Licence keyVerify your Pro subscriptionYour browser

4. When data leaves your browser

Clipperry transmits data in only two situations:

5. Website waitlist (clipperry.com)

If you enter your email address on our website to be notified when Clipperry Pro launches, we store that address so we can send you that one notification. We collect nothing else — no IP address, no device information, no browsing data.

The address is stored on Cloudflare (Workers KV), our infrastructure provider, and is retained until you ask us to delete it or until the launch notification has been sent. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone other than Cloudflare acting as our hosting provider. Every message includes a way to opt out.

You can ask us to remove your address at any time by emailing hello@clipperry.com.

6. Payments

Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Creem, acting as Merchant of Record. When you subscribe, Creem collects the information necessary to process your payment and comply with tax law — such as your name, email address, billing address, and payment details. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Creem handles this data under its own privacy policy. Please review it before subscribing.

7. Permissions we request and why

PermissionWhy it is needed
activeTabRead the content of the page you explicitly choose to clip, and only when you activate Clipperry.
storageSave your settings and clip count locally on your device.
scriptingExtract and clean the article content from the page you are clipping.
sidePanelDisplay the Clipperry panel where you choose a destination and save.
contextMenusAdd a right-click "Save with Clipperry" menu item.
downloadsSave clips as Markdown files when you choose that destination.
tabsIdentify which tab you are currently viewing so Clipperry knows which page to read. This exposes only the page URL and title — not page content.
Optional site access (requested per site)Read the page you ask Clipperry to clip. We never request blanket access to all websites; you approve each site individually the first time you use Clipperry there.
Host access to api.notion.comSend your clip to Notion when you choose Notion as the destination.

We request the narrowest permissions that make the Service work. We do not request access to your cookies or browsing history, and we do not take blanket access to all websites.

8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure

Clipperry's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

9. Data retention and deletion

Because clipped content never reaches us, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Locally stored settings remain on your device until you remove the extension or clear your browser data. Uninstalling Clipperry removes its local storage.

To request deletion of data associated with a Pro subscription, contact us at hello@clipperry.com.

10. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Because we hold almost no personal data, most requests can be satisfied immediately. You can email us at hello@clipperry.com to exercise any of these rights.

12. International users

Clipperry is operated from China. If you use the Service from another region, you understand that payment-related data may be processed by our payment provider in the locations where it operates. We rely on your consent and on the necessity of processing to perform our contract with you as the legal bases for any processing we carry out.

13. Security

We use HTTPS for all network communication. We minimise the data we hold, which inherently reduces risk. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the extension or on this website.

15. Contact

Questions about this policy? Email hello@clipperry.com.

16. Trademarks

Clipperry is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Notion Labs, Inc. "Notion" is a trademark of Notion Labs, Inc. "Obsidian" is a trademark of Dynalist Inc. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
